HOW DO WE FIND OUT ABOUT AND ACCESS MID COAST YOUTH SERVICES' ACTIVITIES?
Information about Mid Coast Youth Career Services activities is circulated throughout all secondary schools and colleges including TAFE within the Mid North Coast. All of the programs offered target young people and aim to improve education and transition outcomes.
Other activities not run as a part of school-based program, are included in school newsletters and circulated through local community agencies and where possible, within local printed media.
You can also keep in contact by subscribing to our newsletter for updates on programs and information about future events. Feel free to contact the Coordinator in your area.
WHO PAYS FOR THE ACTIVITIES?
Mid Coast Youth Career Services is funded by state and federal governments to support the transition of young people from school into further education, training and employment. The way that Mid Coast Youth Career Services aims to achieve this is by supporting the existing services within schools and to assist other key stakeholders such as parents, industry and community in understanding the changing nature and the needs of young people today.
HOW SAFE ARE STUDENTS DURING MID COAST YOUTH CAREER SERVICES ACTIVITIES?
All Mid Coast Youth Career Services staff have undergone Federal Police checks and Working with Children checks. In the case of work placement, the course teacher maintains “duty of care” for the student whilst they are in the workplace. Students are provided with an emergency procedures card where they record contact details as well as having instructions regarding what to do in the case of an accident.
